Acupuncture takes a holistic approach to understanding normal function and disease process and focuses as much on prevention of illness as on the treatment.
Acupuncture uses the insertion of thin needles applied to specific points to correct, unblock and balance the body's energy (Qi). Illness and disease is considered in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to be an imbalance of energies, blocked or stuck energy (Qi).
Acupuncture can be used on it's own very effectively or in combination with other therapies (Western, Eastern and Naturopathic) and is known to be effective in providing drug-free pain relief, assists in the prevention against disease and illness as well as maintenance of general well-being, treats the underlying cause of disease and illness, linking body, mind and emotions.
Acupuncture as a sole therapy can treat a wide range of disorders, including:
- Digestive System Disorders
- Urogenital Disorders
- Gynaecological & Obstetric Disorders
- Musculoskeletal Disorders
- Neurological Conditions
- Cardiovascular Disorders
- Respiratory Conditions
- Skin Conditions
- Sporting Injuries
- Psychological & Emotional Conditions
During the course of the year I will be writing different blogs on Acupuncture and it's use and affect on specific conditions, such as immunity, colds and flu, fertility, gynaecological conditions and many more.
